The use of information technology to establish knowledge-based economy and good governance.

 

Mission

The best use of information technology sector ensures good governance through infrastructure development efficient human resource formation, creation of beautiful work and establishment of e-service.

 

Strategic Objectives

  1. Create high bandwidth network with e-Communication up to grass root level.
  2. Create appropriate ICT infrastructure to disseminate information technology service throughout the country.
  3. Coordination of ICT activities among public and private sector.
  4. Sustainable maintenance of infrastructure for seamless service of ICT.
  5. Create ICT service for creating skilled ICT professional in the government level.
  6. Capacity development of ICT human resources to meet the challenges of the fast changing technology.
  7. Disseminate ICT knowledge to all levels of government and public.
  8. Formulate ICT related rules, regulations, policy, procedures and standards.
  9. Standardization and maintain interoperability of ICT services and equipments.
  10. Provide support for research, development and adopt modern technology.

 

Functions

  1. Ensure the proper utilization of ICT & coordination of ICT activities among all the Government offices for smooth functioning.
  2. Support to create appropriate ICT infrastructure and maintenance support of all government offices up to grass root level.
  3. Appointment, promotion, transfer/posting of ICT related officers to all government offices.
  4. Disseminate technical and special knowledge of ICT to all level.
  5. Constitute Rules, Regulation and its implementation for Government institutions.
  6. Constitute Rules & Regulation to create appropriate ICT related manpower.
  7. Take initiative to provide services through electronic system to the grass root level people and collect information, distribution & research for these purposes.
  8. Ensure requirement, quality, standardization and interoperability of ICT equipment.
  9. Research, develop & provide support to adopt modern technology for all level.
  10. Properly evaluate the merit, experience and capacity of ICT related man-power of ICT Directorate and provide proper recognition & protect their interest.
